L’obiettivo del corso \u201cUrban Plans Studio\u201d \u00e8 quello di fornire agli studenti le competenze per comprendere e interpretare i caratteri della citt\u00e0 contemporanea e per affrontare le principali questioni con cui la pianificazione urbana oggi \u00e8 chiamata a confrontarsi, quali ad esempio: fornire le condizioni per una nuova qualit\u00e0 della vita urbana; rigenerare i tessuti storici e moderni della citt\u00e0 esistente; valorizzare e preservare le risorse naturali, le funzionalit\u00e0 dei suoli e degli ecosistemi; aumentare le prestazioni ambientali ed ecologiche degli spazi aperti al fine di creare le condizioni per un progetto urbano resiliente e adattivo, in grado di rispondere alle pressioni del cambiamento climatico; soddisfare le esigenze legate al vivere contemporaneo e all\u2019economia urbana. Assumendo questi come obiettivi principali, il corso ha affrontato il progetto della citt\u00e0 contemporanea proponendo un approccio multiscalare. Da un lato, attraverso gli strumenti propri della pianificazione urbana gli studenti sono stati chiamati ad elaborare uno scenario generale per i due ambiti di progetto, uno schema territoriale attraverso cui definire le priorit\u00e0 strategiche e le linee guida per lo sviluppo del territorio. Durante la fase successiva del Laboratorio, le strategie e le disposizioni sviluppate alla scala territoriale sono state implementate alla scala del progetto urbano, verificandone l’adeguatezza e la coerenza con le caratteristiche del contesto nei suoi aspetti morfologici, funzionali, ambientali e sociali.<\/p>\n

The aim of the Urban Plans Studio is to provide students with skills to understand and interpret the characters of the contemporary city, and to tackle with the main contemporary issues of urban planning: providing the conditions for a new quality of urban living; regenerating and efficiently retrofitting the tissues of the built city, both in its historical identity and in recent urban fabrics; enhancing and preserving natural resources, first soil and ecosystem functionalities that it expresses; increasing environmental and ecological performance of open spaces, in order to create the conditions for a resilient and adaptive urban design, capable of responding to the pressures of climate change and providing some possible responses to the contemporary forms of urban living and economies. Assuming these main goals, the course addresses the contemporary city project through updated tools of urban planning and design. On one hand, the urban plan defines an overall scenario, setting a medium-long spatial scheme and indicating the strategic priorities and performance guidelines for territorial development. On the other hand, the plan strategies and provisions are implemented, and they take shape on the urban scale. Besides, the urban design verifies the adequacy and consistency of the planning strategies and rules, with the characteristics of the urban context in its morphological, functional, environmental and social aspects.<\/p>\n
